Keep the response attached to its question
A reaction shot can appear to endorse a statement if the surrounding exchange is removed. Check the order and context of the source. When the question matters, retain it or use an accurate visible label. Do not create a stronger disagreement or endorsement through rearrangement just because it makes a more dramatic short.
Choose a layout from the real camera material
The Submagic layout guide includes a two-face option. Treat it as a framing aid, not proof of speaker identification. If the footage only contains one usable view, avoid implying you have synchronized reaction coverage. Compare a split layout, a wider frame and deliberate cuts using only the material available.
Make speaker changes legible
Different caption positions or restrained labels can help when the voices are not obvious. Do not rely on color alone. Check that a caption remains with the correct speaker after trimming. If a name is unverified, use a neutral role label approved for the clip rather than guessing identity from a face or voice.
Inspect the whole exchange in the export
Watch once for conversational meaning and once for captions and framing. Look for a cropped mouth, a hidden gesture and the sentence where the speaker changes. A balanced still image is not enough: the composition must remain understandable as people move. Keep the source timestamps with the delivered version.
Watch for misleading reaction timing
A nod recorded after one statement should not be moved to make it look like agreement with another. Keep synchronized source timing where the reaction conveys meaning. If you use a neutral cutaway, avoid presenting it as evidence of the listener’s response. Review this separately from caption accuracy: perfectly transcribed words can still sit inside an edit that changes the apparent conversation.
