Do not confuse extraction with captioning
Submagic’s help article describes Magic Clips as an add-on that accepts a source recording or supported link and returns candidate clips. That is a different entry point from captioning a short you already selected. Confirm the current allowance and source requirements before purchase. We do not promise a fixed number of usable outputs or a processing time.
Upload only what can be shared
The documentation includes public-link input routes. Making a private recording public simply to satisfy an import option is not a neutral step. Prefer an authorized input method and a cleared sample. If the recording contains sensitive client discussion, establish permission and an appropriate handling process before transmitting it to any editor.
Build a review queue with a discard state
Sort suggestions into review, revise and discard. A generated hook or engagement score does not establish faithfulness to the source. Reject duplicates, incomplete answers and passages that need unavailable context. Time the actual review if evaluating the tool. Large candidate counts can increase work when the acceptance criteria are unclear.
Measure accepted output, not suggestions
Record the number of source recordings processed, candidates inspected and clips approved. Keep these distinct from views or sales after publication. If selection remains difficult, manually marking a few strong timestamps may be the better input. Use the add-on only when it solves that repeated selection problem under the current terms and limits.
Budget for unsuitable candidates
Do not assume every suggestion will be published. Your own acceptance criteria may reject repeated points, unfinished sentences and moments without permission for the new use. Keep a discard reason rather than repeatedly polishing the same unsuitable candidate. If most suggestions fail for the same reason, improve the source selection or input brief before processing more recordings. That is a process diagnosis, not a measured limitation of the product.
