Is Submagic legit: the short answer

Yes: Submagic is sold by a named company under published terms. TURBO STUDIO S.A.S., a French company in Paris, is the seller, and the terms cover billing, cancellation and refunds. You can pay by card, PayPal or Link, and a free trial of three short videos needs no credit card.

The catch is refunds: fees are not refunded. Starter, the first paid plan, is $19 a month per member, billed monthly, or $12 a month per member, billed yearly, as read on 5 October 2026. Submagic review covers the plans.

Who is behind Submagic

The terms call TURBO STUDIO S.A.S. a French simplified joint-stock company and say French law governs them.

You keep the rights to what you upload and grant Submagic a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, modify, reproduce and distribute it on and through the platform. A social media agency with eight clients uploads other people's footage, so that clause is the one to read first. The terms tell you to retrieve and save your content before a plan ends, and Submagic destroys it if no request comes within 60 days after termination.

Payment, billing and cancellation as Submagic's terms and help center state them

Billing is in advance and recurring. A monthly plan runs one month and renews each month. A yearly plan runs twelve months and renews for another twelve unless it is canceled before the anniversary. The terms give amounts before tax, in US dollars for customers outside the EU.

To cancel, use the billing page in your account: the help center's steps run from your profile to the Stripe portal, a billing page, while the terms name a Control Panel billing page. A cancellation applies at the end of the current period. How to cancel Submagic subscription has the steps.

No refunds: what that means before you pay

Submagic's terms say monthly and annual fees are not refunded, and its help center says it does not offer refunds. The terms add a 14-day right of withdrawal for consumers under consumer law, unless the service has already been fully performed with the consumer's consent. They do not say whether that right reaches US buyers.

So plan on no refund, and use the Submagic free trial first. For a standing free plan, Opus Clip's Free plan is $0 with 60 credits a month and a watermark.

What Submagic claims in its marketing, and what no outside source shows

Submagic's own pages give user counts that differ from page to page, and its home page lists result figures for views and editing speed. Those are Submagic's claims, and no outside source for them is among ours, so we state none. Its terms say Submagic does not guarantee the performance or results of using the platform.

For caption accuracy, the help center's figure is 98.8% on average under optimal conditions. Everything about Submagic on this page comes from its own terms, help center, pricing and home pages, and no independent rating of the company is among our sources. What is Submagic explains the product itself.
